Silver Springs State Park

Glass Bottom Boat & Florida Safari Tour

Located in the central and charming  Florida, Silver Springs State Park has been a natural landmark since the 1870s. As Florida’s first tourist attraction and one of the largest artesian springs in the world, the park quickly became renowned for the Glass Bottom Boat tours: guided boat rides where guests could travel around the spring on a vessel with a clear bottom in order to view life underwater.

As Florida’s oldest attraction, the Glass Bottom Boats showcase the crystal clear springs and the underwater life that naturally inhabits Silver Springs.  Guests have the unique opportunity to see below the surface of the water and enjoy the river’s wildlife, vegetation and historical and cultural artifacts.

Join park staff for a Florida Safari tram tour of the longleaf pine forest. Learn about the park’s land management practices and how we care for our natural resources. Wildlife sightings are common but not guaranteed. Possible fauna seen during this program include white-tailed deer, Gopher Tortoise, Sherman’s fox squirrel and wild turkey.

During the tour, you can take a short guided walk on the swamp trail. A park ranger will lead visitors down the boardwalk to the Silver River. After the hike the tram will return to the main entrance.Take a ranger-guided tram ride of the park’s backcountry.
